Rosewood Weaving is owned by Rachel Navarre in Eugene, Ore.
My guiding principles in weaving design are function and joy. As a craftswoman, I aim to create pragmatic, useful fabrics that also delight with color and texture.
I only work with natural fibers – wool, silk, linen, hemp, and cotton – to produce heirloom-quality products.
(No custom orders at this time.)
Weaving a Life
I entered the world of textile design gradually: raising sheep as a child, knitting as a teen, spindle and wheel spinning, then raw fleece processing, dyeing, and finally weaving, a doorway to a vast universe of creative expression.
All items are woven by hand in my home studio. My primary loom is an Oxaback countermarch 8-harness loom, imported from Sweden.
Whenever possible, I choose sustainable fibers, and buy direct from sheep farmers and independent dyers. I’m lucky to live in a vibrant fibershed in the Pacific Northwest, home to many talented fiber artists, teachers, and fleece producers.
